Overview of Program: As part of the Cook Islands Tourism marketing and training efforts a Specialist Program has been compiled for agents to undertake, to familiarize themselves in greater detail of what the destination has to offer in regards to tourism. A section of their web site has been designed for travel agents only, where they will be able to browse and download specific information on the Cook Islands. Agents must first download and complete a Specialist Questionnaire to be eligible to view this information. It is password protected. Once agents have gained access to the online information, they must research and correctly answer 90% of the 55 questions on the Cook Islands test. Because the program is new, no productivity requirements are in place.

Eligibility Requirements: All legitimate travel agents that have completed and submitted the “Specialist Questionnaire”.

Benefits: Agents who become Cook Islands specialists get put in the destination's database; when potential visitors inquire, they automatically get a list of agent specialists in their area. Agents also have access to the latest news and special packages, the online electronic promotional brochures, Cook Islands Compendium and high-resolution images for promotional purposes. Cook Islands Specialists also get priority on fam trips.
